
What is Peptosyl Oral Suspension used for?
Peptosyl Oral Suspension is used to treat diarrhoea and gastrointestinal disturbances in dogs and horses caused by dietary or non infectious conditions.
How does Peptosyl work?
It contains bismuth sub salicylate, which helps soothe the stomach lining, reduce irritation, and support the return of normal gut function.
How do I administer Peptosyl to dogs?
Give 0.25 to 0.5 mL per kilogram of body weight orally every 6 hours for 36 hours, then every 12 hours for a further 2 to 3 days.
What is the dosage for horses?
Administer 0.5 to 1.0 mL per kilogram of body weight orally, following the same dosing schedule as for dogs.
Can food be given during treatment?
Food should be withheld for 24 hours during treatment, except for nursing foals or puppies.
What are the key ingredients?
Each millilitre contains 17.5 mg of bismuth sub salicylate, known for its soothing and anti diarrhoeal properties.
How should Peptosyl be stored?
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C at room temperature, with the lid tightly closed when not in use.
