Product Description
Lectade is an oral rehydration therapy that helps restore hydration and electrolyte balance in animals suffering from dehydration or diarrhoea. It contains a balanced mix of glucose, glycine and electrolytes that support water and sodium absorption in the gut, making it effective for recovery after scours, travel stress or illness. Lectade can be offered to dogs, cats and young farm animals either as a palatable drink they’ll drink voluntarily, or administered via syringe if needed. Prepare the solution as directed, offer it in frequent small amounts and continue for a day or two after recovery to support full rehydration and wellbeing.

What is Lectade Duo used for?
Lectade Duo is an oral rehydration therapy designed to support dogs and cats experiencing dehydration and diarrhoea. It is commonly used as supportive care alongside veterinary treatment for conditions that cause fluid loss.
Can Lectade be used for parvovirus or panleucopenia?
Lectade is often recommended as a non antibiotic supportive option for dehydration and diarrhoea associated with debilitating viral diseases such as canine parvovirus and feline panleucopenia. It does not treat the virus itself, it helps support hydration.
What’s in Lectade Duo?
Lectade Duo contains a balanced mix of glucose, glycine, and electrolytes. This combination supports intestinal absorption of water and salts, helping rehydrate animals that are scouring or dehydrated.
How do I prepare Lectade Duo correctly?
Add both Part A and Part B to 2 litres of warm water and stir until fully dissolved. Parts A and B must be used together. Refrigerate any leftover solution and prepare a fresh solution daily.
Can I make a smaller amount, like 500 mL?
Yes. To prepare 500 mL, mix 1 level 5 mL spoonful of powder from Part A with 3 heaped spoonfuls of powder from Part B, then stir until dissolved.
How much Lectade should I give my dog or cat?
Typical dosing is given 2 to 3 times daily: miniature dogs and cats 125 mL, small dogs 250 mL, medium dogs 500 mL, large dogs 750 mL. Your vet may adjust this based on the condition, size, and dehydration level.
Will my pet drink Lectade willingly?
Many dogs, around 75%, find Lectade palatable and will drink it voluntarily. Cats can be more variable. If needed, Lectade can be given orally using a dosing syringe.
How long should I continue treatment?
Continue for 1 to 2 days after your pet appears clinically recovered and is eating normally, or as directed by your veterinarian, especially if the underlying cause is severe.
