Hartmann’s Solution, also known as Compound Sodium Lactate, is a sterile electrolyte solution used in veterinary and animal care to help restore and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance. It is commonly used for rehydration, fluid therapy, and support during illness, surgery, or recovery in animals. Formulated to closely match the body’s natural fluids, Hartmann’s Solution supports circulation and hydration.  Administered under veterinary direction.

Composition

Each litre of Hartmann’s Solution (Compound Sodium Lactate) contains a balanced combination of electrolytes, including sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, and sodium lactate, dissolved in water for injections. The formulation is designed to closely resemble the electrolyte composition of extracellular body fluid, supporting effective fluid and electrolyte replacement during fluid therapy.
