How to Weigh Puppies
We recommend weighing puppies at the same time each day during the first two weeks. Weighing both before and after a feed in the first few days can help confirm puppies are getting enough milk or formula.
Step by step
Turn the scale on
Press the stainless steel button to power on the scale.
Place a towel on the tray
Use a small microfibre hand towel on the tray so the puppy feels comfortable and secure.
Tare the scale
Press the tare or zero button so the display resets to zero, ignoring the towel weight.
Place the puppy on the tray
Gently place the puppy on the tray and keep them as still as possible for an accurate reading.
Read and record the weight
Record the weight in grams for the most accurate tracking.
Repeat for each puppy
Reset the scale to zero before weighing the next puppy.
Weighing Tips
For accurate weighing, we recommend:
- Weigh puppies when they are sleepy or calm
- Weigh at the same time each day
