Product Description
The Digital Tray Scale 1g to 10kg is designed specifically for weighing small breed newborn puppies, kittens, and pocket pets, making it an essential tool for breeders, rescue carers, veterinarians, and pet owners. Accurate daily weight monitoring is one of the most important ways to assess the health and development of newborn animals, particularly during the first few weeks of life.
With accuracy to 1 gram, this scale allows you to detect even small changes in weight, helping identify puppies or kittens that may require additional monitoring or feeding support. Consistent weight gain is one of the best indicators that newborns are feeding well and developing normally.
The curved tray provides a secure and comfortable weighing area, while the large auto backlit LCD display makes readings easy to see, even during late-night feeds and early morning checks.
Featuring a tare function, multiple weighing units, and automatic power-off, this scale is practical, reliable, and easy to use in busy breeding and neonatal care environments.
Why Daily Weighing Matters
Monitoring weight gain is one of the simplest and most effective ways to track the health of newborn puppies and kittens.
Regular weighing can help:
- Confirm puppies and kittens are feeding adequately
- Identify slow weight gain early
- Monitor the effectiveness of supplementary feeding
- Track individual growth within a litter
- Detect potential health concerns before clinical signs develop
For best results, combine daily weighing with puppy identification collars and weight record charts.

Additional Information
How to Weigh Puppies
We recommend weighing puppies at the same time each day during the first two weeks. Weighing both before and after a feed in the first few days can help confirm puppies are getting enough milk or formula.
Step by step
Turn the scale on
Press the stainless steel button to power on the scale.
Place a towel on the tray
Use a small microfibre hand towel on the tray so the puppy feels comfortable and secure.
Tare the scale
Press the tare or zero button so the display resets to zero, ignoring the towel weight.
Place the puppy on the tray
Gently place the puppy on the tray and keep them as still as possible for an accurate reading.
Read and record the weight
Record the weight in grams for the most accurate tracking.
Repeat for each puppy
Reset the scale to zero before weighing the next puppy.
Monitoring weight gain is one of the best ways to assess neonatal health. Healthy newborn puppies and kittens should show steady daily weight increases, particularly during the first two weeks of life.
If a puppy or kitten fails to gain weight, loses weight, or appears weak, additional feeding support such as bottle feeding or syringe feeding may be required, and veterinary advice should be sought promptly.
Cleaning Instructions
To clean the electronic scales and display, use a clean, damp, lint-free cloth to wipe away spills or dirt, and avoid harsh chemicals & abrasive cleaners. Do not submerging the scales in water.
