Product Description

The Digital Tray Scale (1g to 10kg) is designed for small puppies, kittens, and pocket pets, making it ideal for breeders, rescue carers, and pet owners who need accurate daily weight monitoring for smaller animals.

Tracking weight gain is one of the most important ways to monitor the health of newborn animals. These digital tray scales measure weight changes down to 1 gram, allowing you to quickly see whether a puppy or kitten is gaining weight as expected. This is particularly important during the first two weeks of life, when consistent weight gain is a strong indicator that newborns are feeding well and developing normally.

The curved weighing tray provides a comfortable and secure space for puppies, kittens, and small pets during weighing. A clear auto backlit LCD display makes readings easy to see, even in low light conditions, which is helpful during night checks or early morning feeds.

With a tare function, multiple measurement units (grams, ounces, and pounds), and automatic power off to help conserve battery life, these scales are simple and practical to use in busy breeding environments.

They are particularly useful when used alongside puppy ID collars to track individual puppies and when recording daily weights in our free downloadable puppy or kitten weight records.

Weighing Tips for Newborn Puppies & Kittens

For the most accurate results:

  • Weigh at the same time each day
  • Weigh daily for at least the first two weeks
  • Weigh when puppies or kittens are sleepy or calm
  • Weigh before and after feeding during the first few days to help confirm they are getting enough milk
  • Record weights in our free downloadable weight charts to track growth trends
  • Use identification collars so each puppy or kitten can be monitored individually

Additional Information

Additional Information

Monitoring weight gain is one of the best ways to assess neonatal health. Healthy newborn puppies and kittens should show steady daily weight increases, particularly during the first two weeks of life.

If a puppy or kitten fails to gain weight, loses weight, or appears weak, additional feeding support such as bottle feeding or syringe feeding may be required, and veterinary advice should be sought promptly.

Cleaning Instructions

To clean the electronic scales and display, use a clean, damp, lint-free cloth to wipe away spills or dirt, and avoid harsh chemicals & abrasive cleaners. Do not submerging the scales in water.
