Made in the USA, the MAI Kenney Skim Milk Canine Semen Extender Kit is designed for the preparation and short-term cooled storage of canine semen. This formulation is supplied without antibiotics, providing flexibility for canine reproduction applications where an antibiotic-free extender is preferred.
The extender helps prevent spermatozoa from clumping together (agglutination), allowing forward motility to be assessed more accurately. It also helps maintain a higher percentage of forward-moving sperm over time compared with untreated raw semen.
By increasing the overall insemination dose volume, the extender makes semen easier to handle and helps minimise sperm loss within collection and insemination equipment. When appropriately prepared and stored, extended semen can be used for cooled insemination for up to 48 hours after collection.
